Alexei Alexeev and the sculptural image of the god of trade, thieves, travelers, sports, athletes, transitions, boundaries, border crossings, the messenger of the gods and psychopomp (guide of souls to the underworld) Hermes (Mercury), wearing a petasos (winged sun hat) and holding a kerykeion (caduceus) with two bearded confronted serpents entwined around the winged staff.
