| Figure EAA-chi-035. Alexei Alexeev and the south view of the Wutaishan main temple cluster. Its construction was initiated in 68 AD, during the reign of the Emperor Han Mingdi (r. 58-75 AD) of the Eastern (Later) Han Dynasty (25-220 AD). This sacred compound was extensively expanded, modified and decorated during the Tang Dynasty (618-907 AD) and by the following generations of rulers. |
