A battle scene from the Gigantomachia: Heracles (Hercules) wrestling a lion skin away from the ophiopode (serpent-legged) giant with his lower limbs (below the knees) terminating with the heads of serpents (probably a certain Leon, according to the Book V of the New History of Ptolemy Chennos (Hephaestion) of Alexandria, 100s AD). |
