Wreathed, garlanded, inebriated (?) god of vine, grape harvest, wine, winemaking, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, and theatre Dionysos (Bacchus), pouring libation (?) from a kantharos (wine cup) and assisted by two members of his thiasos (ecstatic retinue): supporting maenad and satyr, carrying filleted thyrsos in his left hand; panther looking up at her master in amazement (?); snake emerging from a half-open cista mystica. |
